Bird-watching

March 1st, 2012 by lorischumacher

We are awaiting the return of the newest member of our family-the owl that has made it’s home in our rhododendron outside our dining room’s bay window.  We aren’t sure what kind of owl he is but  enjoyed seeing him most days last spring.  We are hoping for his return this year which will make it 3 years in a row.  Unfortunately his arrival has chased our robins from their home in the same tree/bush but it has helped keep the chipmunks from driving our dog, Samantha nuts with their tortuous play outside the french door’s to our apartment!

Owl in Spring Maybe some of our bird-watching friends can find out what kind of owl he is for us!  I just haven’t found the right picture to identify him yet!

I am looking forward to the return of my hummingbirds outside my office window overlooking our private patio this spring. It won’t be long before I can put out their feeders so hopefully in the next little bit I’ll see them!  Listening to the birds singing and the fountain gurgling outside my office window are some of the best sounds of the area besides the clippity-clop of the horses pulling Amish buggies through town.

Come on over to our place and listen for yourself!
